With tomorrow being Valentine’s Day, there’s a special emphasis on showing that you care but emotional literacy is something that needs to be fostered throughout the year in as many ways as possible.
This weekend I had the pleasure of joining The Mother Company founders, Abbie Schiller and Samantha Kurtzman-Counter, in New York where we got to talk to moms, dads, bloggers, friends, and fans- both young and old- about our kids and the challenges that we face in getting our kids to be in touch with their feelings and express them. One thing that we heard over and over again was the gratitude for the slower pace of the DVD (Ruby’s Studio: The Feelings Show) and the beautiful styling of The Mother Company books (A Little Book About Feelings and My Feelings). Abbie and Sam put so much thought into every little detail and it shows!
