Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the spring and summer Time to Play showcase to learn about the hot toy trends for the coming months.  While I have so much to say about the things I saw and played with, I’ll share all the great things I learned about at a later date because I wanted to share these three great items and giveaways with you.

Klutz Guide to the Galaxy ($19.99)- Looking up into the night sky to explore the universe from your own backyard has never been more fun or educational thanks to Klutz’s Guide to the Galaxy.  According to Klutz, “when the scientists at Klutz Labs tackle outer space, questions like “where’s the Big Dipper?” are just the beginning.”  The guide also tackles important questions like “How likely is it that a meteor will fall from the sky and squash me flat?” and “If I lived on Mercury, am I already old enough to drive?” and “Why do they call them MoonPies?”  The guide comes with a telescope that kids will have fun putting together and a red-lense flashlight that helps keep your night vision intact to consult the Tourist Map of the Moon and super-simple star charts. Story Songs and Sing Alongs features 10 animated music videos with cartoon versions of some Debbie and Friends’ songs, like new versions of classics like “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Jack and the Beanstalk,” plus original songs like “Willy Won’t” and “Home Run Ronnie.” Debbie’s music has a fun pop vibe and if it seems familiar, it was featured on the TV show “24” last year!
