Black Mountain Jewelry Honors Moms with Tree of Life Charm Giveaway!

I recently heard about Black Mountain Jewelry Company and not only have fallen in love with their products but also their wonderful philosophy.

Handmade by Mark and Carla Mead, Black Mountain Jewelry Company helps customers celebrate their milestones with gifts of jewelry that honor the special people and times of your life. While their spectacular jewelry is indeed one of a kind, I’m impressed by this little mom and pop company’s commitment to fair trade and environmentally responsible business practices.

Carla and Mark practice fair trade and responsible sourcing while minimizing the impact on our environment and are concerned about their own practices on their local environment. Black Mountain jewelry uses reclaimed and recycled materials and purchases responsibly sourced gems from companies whose mining practices don’t violate human rights. They also give 5% of each sale to Children’s charities.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Black Mountain Jewelry is honoring one lucky Tech Savvy Mama reader with a custom Tree of Life Charm. The Tree of Life jewelry line is made from 100% recycled metals and fair trade gemstones. This collection was designed to help people find strength, feel connected and to celebrate life in a way that becomes possible when you have a tangible talisman, a physical reminder you can touch and be reminded of what touches you.

One reader will receive a Tree of Life Charm made of sterling silver, 14k gold, and semi-precious stones (code TCS1) of their choice. The charm can have up to 5 smaller accent stones to symbolize their children on 18" sterling snake chain. This meaningful jewelry amulet is semi-custom with a birthstone on the front and custom stamping on the back and has a minimum value of $81.95.

To enter, leave a comment telling me what the Tree of Life Design means to you along with your e-mail address.

Ponder the gorgeous image and share your thoughts!
Carla says that they “have many different customers - mom's, nurses, survivors- and they share their stories with us. Recently I sent out one to an old dear friend. We put her stone in the roots of the tree and her three children in the branches. She lost one of her children who's stone we set in the human heart in the branches - because he's always in her heart.” Isn’t that just beautiful?

  1. What a beautiful necklace! Our family is mourning the loss of our precious grandmother today. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She was still working and doing well until a few days ago. She was the top of our family tree but we will continue to lay down roots. :-) For me the necklace represents the family's past present and future.

  9. The Tree of Life is a wonderful way to have loved ones close to you always. It made me instantly think of my mother, who passed too suddenly before ever knowing all of her grandchildren. Having a charm with her stone and my childrens stones, would bring her closer to me. Having them all together.

  10. The tree of life symbolizes both the family tree that I am blessed to be a part of and blessed to have extended through my children, as well as the Biblical significance that I hold dear which reminds me of the eternal life I will have in heaven someday. This is a beautiful pendant, and would definitely make a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Nice choice!

  13. Hello! The Tree of Life has always meant a lot to me. It caused me to
begin my family's history. To me,
the tree can be one's family tree or the tree for mankind! To me, the people in our lives are the ones who make our tree strong and able to bend with the wind. I love the heart this company places in the upper branches for love and longevity.
Please enter me in your fabulous prize givaway drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

  23. I am huge fan of this jewelry line! The tree of life pieces instantly remind me of my husband, who survived treatment for a deadly cancer, including a stem cell transplant. The roots remind me of his strength to stay in this life, and the braches remind me of the love and strength he imparts to the world.

  26. Wow, that's beautiful. It reminds me of my great grandma. She's been through a lot and its just beautiful that she's still so vivid and alive after so much. Its really a huge blessing for our family to have her still.

  31. we had to move from the house where our children were born. we had planted something to celebrate each one of their births. now that we are gone, it would be great to have a tree like this that can go with us wherever we go.

  33. I love the Tree of Life charm. To me, it shows how my very large, extended family is all connected by the same strong roots. We're all grown up, and raising our own families now, but we are still all interconnected.

  34. The Tree of Life reminds me of my own life and my purpose on this Earth. To provide shade (protection) to my love ones, to spread to the sky (improve myself) and build better roots to be stronger.

  35. I love this piece and it would remind me of a time when all my childrn were here with me. I lost two sons and have a son and daughter alive,I also love the heart that is in the tree because on hearing of my 2nd sons death I had a heart attack. I would have all their birthstones and mine. On the back I would put "for my broken heart"
    Thanks

  37. I just ordered a tree-of-life pendant for myself (with my 2 kids represented with smaller stones). Beautiful. I've been blessed with 2 mothers-my biological mother and my adoptive mother. I'd love to provide them each with one of these pendants as well, to show that we are all so interconnected!
